Tell us how the idea of becoming a wedding planner became a reality.

I always liked organising private events (birthdays or family events) It’s always me that we call in the family. I worked in hospitality and restoration and participated in the organisation of group events that were happening in the restaurant or hotel. I also worked in aviation which helped me manage my stress and I got the opportunity to get to know different cultures.

Suddenly, I wanted to switch careers and find something that was more adapted to my personality. At the same time, I was in the middle of organising my own wedding, and so, I discovered the job of a wedding planner. I decided to go for it with the experience I already had.

I then did research to see if there were any trainings. Back then, there weren’t many, but I still did a wedding planner training and a business management training. I also have a degree in action and commercial communication. Since then, I continued to train in destination weddings and I develop a lot the commercial and communication side of things. We must always know the trends and follow the evolution of weddings.

What are the 3 words that define you and your work ?

Rigorous, Dynamic and Trip

Is a wedding planner born or made ?

I think a wedding planner is born, we do not become a wedding planner. You have to have a certain quality which is organisation. You have to like challenges, have the capacity to project yourself and manage your stress in any situation. Wedding planners are people who go 100 miles per hour and who loves to be at their client’s service. For the bride and groom, it is the most important day of their lives, so we have to be there for them and listen to their requests.

We understand the couple, we know that there needs to be a good vibe between the wedding planner and the bride and groom.

You also need to be attentive to the smallest details, love beautiful things and be super creative, because we constantly have to come up with new ideas. We need to be inspired by the couple. When we want to create beautiful things, the budget also has to be there. It is often people who have the tendency to consume and who are looking for quality and who can afford it.

How do you manage to make every wedding a unique event, find new ideas and trends ?

A wedding is always a unique event because the couple have their own personality, the requests are always different. We can find trends on social media, decoration magazines, foreign tv shows… Any support is a good help. Mixing the French culture with other cultures is also perfect to create a unique celebration.

What type of wedding do you usually organise ? What are your clients looking for?

Luxury weddings, often mixed weddings (Franco-Serbian, Portuguese, African-Indian, Anglo-American, French expatriates).

Our future bride and groom look for the possibility to be able to associate both of their cultures in the wedding. They also like to organise a modern, authentic and elegant wedding. They simply want a wedding that represents them well.

How do you work with the couple from the moment you meet them to the day of the wedding ? Meetings, suggestions…

It depends on the clients’ whereabouts. I can work with them from a distance through Skype and there can also be meetings at their house if they live in France. It can also be in a public place, we can always travel, that’s not a problem.

Why do you believe that it is essential to have a wedding planner ?

Today, it is a must because there are more and more constraints when it comes to wedding venues, so couples have troubles with the organisation. The logic of wedding planning can be hell for someone who isn’t in the industry.

We are present to manage the suppliers and the guests so that the bride and groom are not being asked a million questions. The goal is for our couple to not think about what can go wrong but just relax and enjoy the day.

How much time do you need to organise a wedding ?

Between 3 and + 12 months. A wedding planner can organise a wedding at the last minute, in less than 3 months or have a more serene organisation that starts more than 12 months before the wedding. We can adapt to any kind of situation.

Finally, what do you love the most about planning an event ?

The big day! It is the result of a year’s work. Seeing the enthusiasm of the couple when they discover the venue. It is a great satisfaction for us to see our clients content and happy with our work.
