History

The Hotel Convention San Roque, a former monastery of Santa Clara, built at 1666 by the order of Balmasedano Don Juan de la Piedra and Verastegui, was transformed into a small hotel and a venue for the wedding . The entire monumental complex hotel and restaurant is a testament to the uniqueness of this place.

The vanguard and tradition are combined in this ancient monastery.San Roque Restaurant, located in the same monastery, has two salons and has a capacity of more than 150 people, in addition to its own wine cellar, which has a wide variety of wines from the most different  places of origin, Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Navarro, Penedés or Bierzo.The ability to exclusive rent of the venue allows you to make your wedding a memorable and romantic event.There’s an excellent gallery in the house, where you can enjoy an adorable view of the mountains.

The Hotel San Roque has a total of 19 rooms, the same which were shared 40 years ago by the sisters in the closed monastery.

How to arrive

Through C-6318 the road to Bilbao (28 km-15 minutes), the Mena Valley and Burgos (up to 100 km), Santander. C-6210 connects with Vitoria-Gasteiz (60 km) vía Artziniega and Amur, as well as Santander (90 km after C-629) through Ramales and Laredo.
