Kelsie and Cody’s romantic wedding has all the heart-warming wedding details that you could think of! Sandcastle Celebrations did a superb job at planning the special day and made sure that the decorations successfully reflected the couple’s strong bond and that the whole day went to plan.
Kristyn Villars Photography captured every little detail of the event and made sure to get a shot of all the personal details that Kelsie and Cody used for their wedding day decorations. From the grid structure incorporated into the decorations to Cody’s handmade seating chart… we can’t get enough of how much thought they put into their special day!
The location, a vineyard in Paso Robles, California, produced an authentic backdrop for the ceremony which reflected the identities of the bride and groom.

Kelsie and Cody’s Romantic Love Story
Kelsie met Cody in spring of 2013, and they instantly hit it off. From then on, they adventured together, shared their hobbies and interests and made wonderful friendships together.
It wasn’t until a few years later, when Cody asked Kelsie to marry him while they were at home on a rainy Autumn evening. Kelsie had dreamt of her perfect wedding since she was a little girl, and now it was finally real!
Planning the Wedding
Kelsie works in the wedding industry, so she found it hard to finalise her choices for wedding vendors and designers as every part of the wedding needed to be special to her. The couple eventually chose to have a “classic” wedding theme, filled with white flowers and greenery and natural materials.
Kelsie absolutely adored a particular sea foam coloured La Tavola velvet linen, and for a long time struggled with incorporating it into her classic wedding design. However, one day at work she stumbled upon the colour “copper beach” and thought it was perfect for her design ideas.
The florist, Kim with Flowers by Kim, created a stunning array of floral décor for the ceremony that worked perfectly with Kelsie’s aesthetics. It consisted of brown lisianthus, fluffy butterfly ranunculus, blue thistle and bunny tails. Just take a look at the photos and see this incredible, eye catching display for yourself!
Traditional Food Source
Kelsie wanted to make sure that the wedding reflected both her and Cody’s personalities, and since design wasn’t a big thing for him, they made it so that the menu came from his own traditions.
Cody comes from a family that has lived in the local area for eight generations, and for them it has been a huge tradition to hunt local animals. The caterer, Flora and Fauna, helped them handcraft a menu with foods that Cody could source himself for the wedding!
Items on the menu included deer jerky, tacos with fresh ling cod and a 100-year-old Swiss Sausage recipe on the charcuterie board. This idea meant that Cody’s passion and talents could be utilised for their special day.
A Cake Unique to all Wedding Traditions
Although Kelsie and Cody opted for a traditional wedding design, they were also keen to include something more untraditional, that would catch lots of people’s attention at the wedding.
They got in touch with Paper Cake Events and asked for a black wedding cake – how unusual! The cake was a three-tier coconut and raspberry cake, coated in jet black icing. Even the photo is enough to make out mouths water!
