Do you love fairy tales and popular Disney princess stories such as The Little Mermaid? Well, you’re in the perfect place, because this article will tell you all about this incredible Little Mermaid themed wedding editorial that will fulfil all of your fairytale wedding dreams!
The shooting was designed by The Stars Inside, who organised this creative wedding by envisioning Ariel as a bride and utilising the theme of the ocean to make beautiful wedding details based on the story itself. Rebecca Carpenter was the photographer for the event, and her photos skilfully portray the Mermaid brides and the magic involved in the process. Fairytale in the British Countryside
The editorial took place in Walcot Hall, one of the best wedding venues in Shropshire, England, known for its idyllic setting and luxury services. The vast English countryside which surrounds the venue gave the shooting a gorgeous backdrop due to its hundreds of acres of greenery, lakes and trees.
The location was important for choosing the colour palette, which consisted of sunset shades and teal accents to complement the countryside whilst also subtly adding to The Little Mermaid theme.
Bride and Groom’s Attire
The groom can be seen wearing an ASOS suit which was covered in white and beige flowers, which perfectly complemented the floral decor.
On the other hand, the mermaid brides both sported Victoria Lou Bridal wedding dresses, which had incredible skirts that flowed to mimic ocean waves. This skilful dressmaking style was a clever way to hint the mermaid theme without going too overboard.
Flowers by Pheasant Botanica
Pheasant Botanica did a wonderful job of creating floral décor which perfectly alluded to the fairytale theme. The bridal bouquet that they created had a waterfall of scarlet colours which matched Ariel’s hair, and also subtle notes of teal to also bring in the colours of her mermaid tail from the story itself.
Their floral arrangements which decorated the outdoor ceremony setting in the ancient fountain created a sea of white, scarlet and burnt orange flowers and a gorgeous setting for the ceremony photos.
Intricate Details
Throughout the whole editorial, there were so many little intricate details that caught our eye. For example, the paper goods and calligraphy by Mathilda Lundin Calligraphy perfectly reflected the fairytale theme as they seemed as though they were taken straight from a fairytale story book!
The bride wore a detailed shell crown, made by Discordia Designs which subtly hinted the scarlet colour of Ariel’s hair with its little red roses.
Oceanic Wedding Cakes
Even the wedding cakes had oceanic vibes, and we love how they artistically hinted the theme without being too obvious. The Sweetest Thing Cakery produced an amazing teal coloured cake which was covered in “barnacles”, and also a trio of cakes which were shaped just like waves.
The whole editorial was not only captured in photo form, but it was also skilfully recorded by videographer Rix Weddings, who created an eye-catching short film of the wedding so that everyone can experience the under the sea wedding, above the sea!
