The glistening Mediterranean. The towering trees providing welcome shade in the warm evening. The stunning coastline. This wedding oozes romance and encapsulates all that’s brilliant about Spanish destination weddings.
Alexandra & Matthew’s wedding in Barcelona exudes love and sophistication. Paying homage to the wedding being scheduled around Valentine’s Day, the couple incorporates stunning palettes of reds and pinks in their décor and florals that blend seamlessly into the stunning Spanish ambiance. Alexandra’s beautiful Galia Lahav gown tells the story typical to every bride- let yourself be surprised by styles you usually wouldn’t go for. Alexandra was immediately enchanted by this incredible ballgown and didn’t spare a single thought for her original plans of a smooth sheath gown.
Location and Décor
Alexandra and Matthew wanted to showcase all the natural beauty and charm of Barcelona. The flowers and décor showcased stunning and passionate shades of reds, burgundies and pinks, enabling Alexandra to experiment with her love for the dramatic and darker palettes. The couple also opted to adorn the wedding venue with candles to create a charming and cosy atmosphere.
The Dress
Alexandra had been a fan of Galia Lahav for a while and she fell immediately in love with the Aelin, an exquisite, beautiful, embroidered ballgown fit for a princess. From that moment, she only had eyes for that dress.
The Reception and Music
For music lovers like Alexandra, the music selection is unquestionably significant. For the reception dinner, she opted to create a playlist of romantic classics from R&B and Soul. During the party however, her one request was nothing but Disco; good music and a sturdy dance-floor is all you need for you and your guests to dance the night away!
Alexandra and Matthew also created an incredibly beautiful, yet sentimental photo booth for everyone to use. It involved a stunning burgundy velvet sofa surrounded by flower petals and above a bright sign read ‘Can’t take my mind off you,’ lyrics to their first dance and something they will now keep forever in their home, a beautiful memory of their special day.
The Honeymoon
Typical for all 2020 couples, Alexandra and Matthew had to postpone their Bali honeymoon due to Covid, however, over their one-year anniversary they were able to travel to their hometown of New York City to celebrate and then spent 9 days in the tropical Costa Rica.
